She says this and it kills her inside knowing she's not yours
She says this but would rather you see what's in store

The comfort came when he said she would like her in his life
Though more comfort would come at the end of a knife
Time wasted, maybe, but not in her eyes
she'd rather waste a million hours then have to say goodbye

This was true love for the very first time for them
and it was too tainted and too beautiful and too horrible to condemn
she says in her space healing fractures while she prays

She says these things for the first time meaning them fully
She says these things in hopes that he will finally be happy

It was her own fault because she fell in love with him
he said not to even though he loved her again
but thankfully the truth had always been in his words
it prepared her for what she knew was coming when she heard

no one can replace him in her life, try as they might
her heart will always beat fast when he's in her sight
so long as he's still in her life in some way she'll be fine
she can hold on to the love that could never see eye to eye

The timing was flawed, the lovers with twisted minds
His madness flowed deeply, she saw all the signs

She'll stay no matter what the cost, even if it's all her loss
never again is what she said before and now again she adored
someone she had no right to keep, in his peaceful face in sleep
she could stay in his arms no longer in harm

She no longer waits but will no longer seek
what comes to her will come and she'll sort the strong from the weak
and the two will still have something unspoken
